Cuban ministry of health launches call for the Annual Health Award

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 8 (ACN) Cuban ministry of public health (MINSAP by its Spanish acronym) informed that the submission of scientific works to participate at the 45th edition of the Annual Health Prize Competition 2022 will be extended until April 15 this month.

On this occasion, it includes works completed from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2021, because during the past two years the edition of the Award was not called due to the situation created in the country by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, which caused COVID-19.

This is the most important recognition granted every year by MINSAP and physicians, stomatologists, psychologists, graduates in nursing and health technology, pharmaceutics, biochemistry, biologists, engineers, economists and other professionals and technicians are eligible to participate in the contest.

It also includes students of medical sciences who work or research in health, regardless of the organization or institution in which they work, and from which they should only have endorsement or consent for the participation of their works in the contest, according to the call for entries.
The results of the research and innovations must contribute to the improvement of the population's health indicators, to the quality and satisfaction with these services, to the efficiency, sustainability and development of the sector, as well as to the comprehensive training of professionals and students in accordance with the needs of the country.

The works should refer to primary health care; health promotion and disease prevention; maternal and child health; sexual and reproductive health, as well as the elderly and aging population.

Also, human resources training; healthcare technology; violence: accidents, destructive and self-destructive behaviors; patient quality and safety; and health efficiency and economy, export of services, management and infrastructure.
According to the organizing committee, the final scientific session and awards ceremony is scheduled for November 25 and 26.
