HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 15 (acn) Health is one of the sectors with greater potential to strengthen cooperation between Ecuador and Cuba, asserted on Tuesday the Public Health Minister of the South American nation, Carina Vance.
While inaugurating in Quito a bi-national work meeting aimed at finding agreements to increase cooperation, the Minister pointed out that the two countries intend to speed up the process of decision making and the execution of joint programs.
For two days, specialists and technicians of Ecuador and Cuba will participate in working sessions, in which they will tackle possibilities of cooperation in aspects like the treatment of diabetes, medicaments, vaccines and the struggle against cancer, among others.
According to Vance, this is yet another step to revitalize the system of medical attention in Ecuador, among which exchanging the curative approach for the prevention approach and health prevention excels, "something in which we have a lot to learn from Cuba," she said.
