Cuba reported 647 new cases of COVID 19, 857 discharges and 2 deaths

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 18 (ACN) Cuba studied a total of 15,239 samples for surveillance during the day, resulting positive 647 for 4.2% of positivity. The country accumulates 12, 963,301 samples taken and 1,064,128 positive (8.2%).

At the end of February 17, a total of 10,161 patients had been admitted, 6,767 suspected , 85 under surveillance and 3,309 confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases, 620 were contacts of confirmed cases, 19 with a source of infection abroad and 8 with no source of infection specified. A total of 857 cases were discharged, 1,052,276 patients recovered (98.9%) and 2 persons died. Thirty-four confirmed patients are being treated in ICUs, including 14 in critical and 20 in serious condition.

Of the 647 positive cases, 9.3% (60) were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 144,711, representing 13.6% of those confirmed to date, and the diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (133), 20 to 39 (194), 40 to 59 (191), and 60 and over (129).
