HOLGUIN, Cuba, Jan 24 (ACN) The Provincial Center of Electromedicine in Holguin promotes a group of innovations to maintain the vitality of equipment and diagnostic equipment in the public health sector in the midst of COVID-19, as part of the programs prioritized within this branch in Cuba.
Among the technical solutions developed, the recovery of grids for the mammography equipment of the Vladimir Ilich Lenin Hospital and the heads for the RNA extractor of the Molecular Biology Laboratory, located in the provincial capital, Luis Enrique Almaguer, director of that entity, told the Cuban News Agency.
In addition to these innovations, he stressed, there is the mechanical system for raising and lowering the motor of the stretcher dedicated to the cobalt therapy service, which returned life to the performance of tests on cancer patients, as well as ventilators, anesthesia machines, clinical analyzers, microscopes, gasometers, mixers, used in the laboratories of health care institutions, polyclinics and research centers.
Almaguer indicated that the manufacture of these parts has resulted in savings of more than 219,000 pesos, as well as contributing to improve oncology services and the processing of PCR samples, among other technical solutions since the installation in the midst of the epidemiological contingency that the country is going through.
