Cuba reported 72 new cases of COVID 19, 65 discharged and no deaths

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 16 (ACN) Cuba tested a total of 19,238 samples for surveillance during the day, resulting positive 72. The country accumulates 11, 396,018 samples taken and 963,885 positive.

At the end of December 15, a total of 2,575 patients had been admitted, 2,000 suspected, 259 under surveillance and 316 confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases, 48 were contacts of confirmed cases; 21 with source of infection abroad and 3 with no source of infection specified. There were 65 medical discharges (7 less than those diagnosed), accumulating 955,199 patients recovered (99.1%) and there were no deaths. Twelve confirmed patients are being treated in ICUs, 5 of them critical and 7 serious.

Among the 72 positive cases, 36.1% (26) were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 132,865, which represents 13.8% of those confirmed to date, and the diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (3), 20 to 39 (18), 40 to 59 (35), 60 and over (16).
