Diving Center in Cuban eastern province keeps supplying breathable air for medical services

HOLGUIN, Cuba, Aug 24 (ACN) Since August 14, the operators of the Eagle Rey International Diving Center, located in the Guardalavaca beach resort, guarantee more than 80 breathing air cylinders a day for medical use in hospital facilities in the province of Holguin.

The high demand for oxygen in this eastern territory due to the growing spread of COVID-19, led the nautical station to incorporate immediately to the filling of cylinders, and to expand the capacity of the compressor to speed up this process, thus achieving the filling of four units at a time in approximately 45 minutes.

To carry out this work, a group of measures aimed at protecting the operators are adopted, including the disinfection of each cylinder and the frequent washing of hands after handling each unit.

The compressed air at the Guardalavaca diving center is used for medical purposes, mixing it with pharmacological substances, which allows providing ventilation therapies and aerosol treatments to patients with respiratory diseases.
