Italian Donation on its Way to Cuba

Havana, Aug 23 (ACN) Cuba will receive a donation of medicines and medical items this week thanks to an initiative by friends of the island who wanted to reciprocate the recent Cuban medical assistance against COVID-19 in that European nation, particularly in the regions of Lombardy and Piedmont.

The donation will arrive here on Thursday divided into two air cargoes containing the most necessary resources in tune with the needs of the Cuban Health Ministry, and a third shipment in two containers getting here later this month.

The shipments bring 150 lung ventilators, 37 oxygen concentrators, some 70 thousand COVID-19 fast tests, nearly five thousands facemasks, bio-security means, generics and hospital equipment.

All the resources donated will go to health centers in the capital Havana, and the cities of Matanzas, Holguin, Cienfuegos, Santiago de Cuba, Guantanamo and Ciego de Avila; all hard hit by COVID-19.
