Cuba reported 9,169 new cases of COVID 19, 7,534 discharges and 65 deaths

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 16 (ACN) Cuba studied a total of 44,360 samples for COVID 19, resulting in 9,169 positive ones. The country accumulates 7, 203,079 samples taken and 526,837 positive.

At the close of August 15, 96,146 patients were admitted, 49,616 suspected, 4,488 under surveillance and 42,042 confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases .9, 113 were contacts of confirmed cases; 20 with source of infection abroad and 36 with no source of infection determined. There were 7,534 discharges, 480,650 patients recovered (91.2%) and 65 people died. A total of 446 confirmed patients are being treated in ICUs, including 109 in critical and 337 in serious condition.

Among the 9169 positive cases, 3.9% (358) were asymptomatic, totaling 112,530, which represents 21.4% of those confirmed to date, and the diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (1876), 20 to 39 (2630), 40 to 59 (2903) and over 60 (1760).
