HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 14 (ACN) In remembrance of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, the book Sin permiso de Estados Unidos [Without the U.S.’s permission] about the Cuban leader’s political and revolutionary work will be launched in the coming months.
In statements to the press, author Ovidio Cabrera García said that the book covers Fidel's role in Ibero-American Summits, where he particularly stood out among other participating statesmen, through anecdotes and experiences of around 20 people, mainly journalists who attended these meetings and were directly in touch with the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.
“The book will show an independent, patriotic Fidel who defends the independence of Latin America and showed courage in the face of all the imperialist attacks against Cuba and himself,” the writer remarks. “It is intended to honor this exemplary Cuban and what he did in the country and elsewhere to become a universal reference”.
According to the author, the titled Sin permiso… is inspired by Fidel’s words in the first summit held in Guadalajara, where he expressed his satisfaction that the Latin American peoples were meeting without the influence of the U.S. government.
The book is scheduled to be presented in November with the cooperation of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center as one of many other tributes to the life and work of the man who put Cuba in the international spotlight.
