Cuban Agroindustrial Grain Company increases charcoal exports

PINAR DEL RIO, Cuba, Nov 1 (ACN) Los Palacios Agroindustrial Grain Company (EAIG) , exported so far this year 883 tons of charcoal, which exceeds the amount agreed for the current season.

Under the trademark ¨Marabucuba¨, the product, made from marabu, an invasive plant plentiful in Cuban fields, has been widely accepted by nations such as Saudi Arabia, France, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus, Spain and Mexico due to its quality.
In case of this entity, the raw material comes from areas connected to rice cultivation in Pinar del Rio province, one of the outstanding regions in cereal production on the Caribbean island.
Before this year end, they expect to export 900 tons of this product, widely used, among other options, in the cooking of food instead of conventional energy.
This Cuban-made marabu coal has a high international demand, due to its high caloric content and characteristics such as the blue flame, low smoke and the absence of ash, elements that have deserved recognition, according to specialists.
