VARADERO, Cuba, Oct 23 (ACN) The signing of a collaboration agreement between the Cuban University of Matanzas, the Higher Technological Institute of the south of the State of Yucatan and the Universidad Modelo of that same region in Mexico, was held today during the 11th Workshop on Science, Technology and Innovation CIT@Tenas 2019.
Pilarin Baujin Perez, first vice-rector of the Cuban academy, told ACN that the agreement will foster cooperation in terms of learning technical sciences, research, innovation and postgraduate academic activity.
The second day of CIT@Tenas 2019 took place today at the Plaza America Convention Center, located in this resort city, some 120 kilometers east of Havana, and the conference "Industry 4.0: economic, technological and social considerations" was on the agenda.
Jorge Carlos Canto, a specialist from the Universidad Modelo, referred to Industry 4.0 (I4.0) and its relations with technologies such as robotics, computer simulation, integrated communication systems, internet, cybersecurity, 3D printing, augmented reality, and big data.
The world is living today a fourth Industrial Revolution, where Internet connectivity is changing production processes, manufacturing and even social relations, as well as business models and the way people think, the Mexican researcher said.
After its opening last Monday, the 11th Workshop on Science, Technology and Innovation has become a forum for dialogue until Friday on current issues such as adaptation to climate change, quality in higher education, inclusive development, and socialization of knowledge.
