HAVANA, Oct 2 (ACN) Dancers, choreographers, academics and researchers from seven countries will meet in Havana today for the 2nd Meeting of Fragmented Memory to share experiences about dance creation in contemporary contexts.

The event, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the company Danza Contemporanea de Cuba (DCC) and the 500-year anniversary of the founding of Havana, will be held at the New Latin American Film Festival House with the first presentations of its theoretical program.
The session will include the awarding of the Josefina Mendez International Honorary Dance Prize 2019 to Venezuelan journalist, dance critic and researcher Carlos Paolillo and it´s granted by the National Association of Cuban Writers and Artists in recognition of the career of relevant personalities from the world dance scene.
There will also be a presentation of the most recent issues of the magazines Cupula, Tablas and Conjunto, as well as the staging of the work Anonima, by the group Ad Livintum.
The 2nd Meeting of The Fragmented Memory will feature an interesting theoretical agenda at the Festival Center until October 5. A total of 18 national and 16 foreign researchers will offer their reflections on the roles of the creator-researcher in contemporary contexts, as well as screenings of documentaries, classes and literary and scenic presentations.
This event is named after a work created by the brilliant dancer and choreographer Ramiro Guerra (1927-2019), a modern dance precursor in Cuba, for the DCC company, which he founded six decades ago.
