Havana, Sep 27 (ACN) Cuban deputy foreign minister Rogelio Sierra Diaz held a cordial exchange with his Guatemalan counterpart, Jairo David Estrada Barrios, who is making a working visit to Cuba, cubaminrex website reported.
During the friendly meeting, Sierra Diaz thanked the Guatemalan government for its support to the Cuban people's struggle for the end of the unjust blockade imposed by the U.S. government.
For his part, Estrada thanked on behalf of his people and government the work of Cuban health collaborators in Guatemala.
They also reviewed different issues of interest on the bilateral and international agenda and confirmed the good progress of the ties between the two nations.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by the Ambassador of Guatemala in Cuba, Hector Ivan Espinoza Farfan, and the head of the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department of the Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jenny Alvarado Jerez.
On the Cuban side, Jorge Luis Mayo Fernandez, director of Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean, as well as other officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting.
