HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 19 (ACN) The positive state of relations between Cuba and Austria was confirmed during the 8th Session of Inter-chancellery Political Consultations of both countries, held in Havana.
Armando Vergara Bueno, interim director general of Bilateral Affairs, Alexander Marschik, director general for Bilateral Affairs, Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union and political director of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, chaired this meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Havana.
The talks also confirmed the willingness to continue strengthening bilateral ties, broaden economic-commercial relations and underlined the importance both parties attach to cooperation in different sectors, especially in the cultural and judicial spheres.
The parties also exchanged on issues on the regional and multilateral agenda.
In the context of the visit, the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo, received the Austrian delegation at a meeting that took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere where both parties ratified the will to continue contributing to strengthen bilateral relations in areas of common interest.
The distinguished visitor was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria in Cuba, Stefan Weidinger, and other officials from the Americas Directorate of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria and the Embassy, respectively.
On the Cuban side, the Director of Europe and Canada of MINREX, Alba Soto Pimentel, was present, among other directors and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
