Havana, Sep 10 (ACN) Relations between Cuba and Vietnam will be strengthened in all fields, as confirmed today in the opening of the 37th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission in Hanoi, Prensa Latina reported.

Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, advocated the immediate implementation of the Economic Trade Agreement signed in November 2018, during the visit to Vietnam of President Miguel Diaz-Canel.
He stressed that Vietnam is Cuba's second largest trading partner in Asia and one of the top 20 worldwide, as well as the region's main investor in the island. He also had praise phrases for the cooperation projects with Cuba in rice and coffee production.
For his part, the Vietnamese co-president of the Intergovernmental Conference, Pham Hong Ha, Minister of Construction, invited to extend the potential of this mechanism as facilitator of economic-commercial and bilateral cooperation bonds.
On Monday, Cuba and Vietnam assessed these possibilities in three commissions: one on industry, commerce, construction, banking and finance, investment, transport, communication, education, culture, sports and tourism; another on agriculture and fishing; and a third on science, technology, biotechnology and health.
During his stay in Vietnam, Malmierca is scheduled to meet with PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and senior officials from the Health, Planning and Investment and Trade and Industry ministries, as well as company directors who do business with Cuba or are interested in doing so.
