HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 18 (ACN) Cuba's first vice president, Salvador Valdes Mesa, arrived this Tuesday in Geneva, Switzerland, to attend the high-level section of the 108th session of the International Labour Conference.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that in addition to its participation in the annual conference of the International Labour Organization (ILO), which this year celebrates its 100 years of history, Valdés Mesa will carry out a program of activities in Geneva.
The delegation includes Ulises Guilarte, Secretary General of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba; Margarita González, Minister of Labour and Social Security; and Anayansi Rodríguez, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Also in attendance are Rodolfo Parra, representative of Cuban employers; and Pedro Luis Pedroso Cuesta, ambassador and permanent representative of the Antillean country before international organizations in Geneva.
The International Labour Conference is the supreme decision-making body of the ILO, which each year brings together the tripartite delegations (governments, employers and workers) of the 187 member states.
