HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 13 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, arrived in St. Lucia, the second stop of his tour of several Caribbean countries prior to the VI CARICOM-Cuba Ministerial Meeting.
The Cuban FM said on Twitter that his country has deep ties of friendship with Saint Lucia and both countries will celebrate this year the 40th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations.
Both countries have developed a broad political dialogue and bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit and in favor of integration, especially in the health sector.
Cuba appreciates Saint Lucia's support against the economic, commercial and financial blockade maintained by the United States against its people.
Rodriguez arrived in the small Caribbean nation from Trinidad and Tobago, where he met Prime Minister Keith Christopher Rowley, and noted the good state of relations between the two countries.
According to information from the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the VI CARICOM-Cuba Ministerial Meeting will be a propitious framework to further strengthen the relations between both parties and seek joint solutions to the problems of greatest incidence in the region, such as the adverse effects of climate change.
