President of Ghana visits Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 3 (ACN) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana, will arrive in the capital this Wednesday in an official visit to Cuba.

The distinguished visitor will hold official conversations with Cuban authorities and carry out other activities in the Caribbean nation.

The visit will take place in the year of the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Ghana.

Currently, the most developed bilateral links are health, education, agriculture and sports.

Medical cooperation began in 1983 as an Internationalist Mission and in 2000 the Comprehensive Health Program was initiated, while in April 2013 a Cooperation Agreement was signed with Cuban Medical Services for the assistance and academic services that are still maintained.

Ghana, located in the center of the west coast of Africa, its capital is Accra and on March 6, 1957, proclaimed its independence.
