HAVANA, Cuba, mar 7 (ACN) Ana Maria Mari Machado, Vice President of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), received at the Capitolio in Havana a delegation of veteran internationalists from the Russian Federation, headed by Vitaly Karpenko, President of the Friendship with Cuba Group.
During the meeting, in which Yolanda Ferrer Gómez, president of the International Relations Committee of the ANPP, also participated, both parties recalled the historical, strategic and cooperation relations that unite both countries, and were confident that they will continue to consolidate.
The vice-president of the Cuban parliament informed the visitors about the results of the constitutional referendum that took place on February 24 of this year, in which the new Magna Carta of the Republic was ratified, with 86, 85% of the votes.
She also said that the voting process was a resounding success, and highlighted the massive participation of Cubans, as more than 90% of voters went to the polls.
Mari Machado also referred to the intense legislative work that the National Assembly will have in the coming months, to comply with everything established in the Constitution.
Both parties exchanged on current international issues, and in that sense referred to the situation the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuelafaces, and condemned the coup attempts to overthrow the legitimate government of President Nicolas Maduro.
At the end of the exchange, Vitaly Karpenko presented both deputies with the medal conferred by the veterans of Russia's war.
