Diaz-Canel calls for better services to the population

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 20 (ACN) The President of the Councisl of State and Ministers Miguel Diaz-Canel urged workers of the commerce, services and food sector to increase the quality of services they provide the Cuban people.

During a meeting at the Ministry of Domestic Trade, the President said workers need to have revolutionary concern (annoyance when things are done badly, when it gets in the way), and sensitivity to the problems of the population.
When people go to one of these places do it to solve needs or get certain pleasure, they cannot be subjected to abuse, theft or any other problem.
He called for separating state structures from the administrative, but without one or the other being ignored, but rather that everyone must touch things with their hands. Problems must be solved by everyone, from the base to the ministry. And all are accountable to the people, he said.
The president explained that when faced with complex problems, the cadres have to turn to scientific research and from there to innovation. Likewise, make use of new technologies as part of the computerization of society.
He also demanded the acceleration of programs to revive commerce, gastronomy and services in the different territories, as has been done in Santiago de Cuba, which is an orientation of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party.
He also demanded order, harmony and cleanliness in state institutions. "The state facilities can't be the ugliest," he said. And he asked himself "why don't we do what the non-state sector does," which is a complement to the state, like home deliveries and other old formulas that are applied throughout the world.
Knowing that this sector is one of the lowest wage earners in the country, an issue that was recurrent in the debate of participants in the meeting, Diaz-Canel also wondered if it is logical that a business or gastronomy has losses and cannot distribute profits among its workers.
What happens is that part of those profits is stolen, and its expression is in the chain of non-payments that are had with other actors of the economy, he reflected. "And as was proposed here, the State Budget will not be used to pay for robberies.
The Cuban President also highlighted the role of the Mincin's business system in the internal financial equilibrium, which is why he guided the guarantee of a correct internal control and the improvement of working conditions and attention to the workforce.
