HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 20 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban Foreign Minister, described the statements made by Donald Trump on Latin America during a speech given Monday at the University of Miami as clumsy and crude.
During a press conference at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomat said that Cuba categorically rejects the infamy that members of its army are in Venezuela, where health, education and other aid workers are concentrated.
The Cuban collaborators in that country this weekend exercised their right to vote as part of the constitutional referendum in a successful manner and demonstrate to their families that despite the conditions that currently exist in Venezuela they remain willing to help.
Rodríguez Parrilla expressed his rejection of Trump's intimidating statements towards those who have decided to embrace the ideas of socialism as part of his very electoral discourse, which is aimed at intimidating young North American voters and tries to fix the idea that those who vote for democrats do so for the establishment of socialism.
The FM recalled that in the speech of the American president were present fundamentalist republicans, among them John Bolton, national security advisor, recognized war-maker and architect of the coup d'etat against Venezuela.
Trump's main contribution has been to include McCarthyism in the Monroe Doctrine with an old-fashioned anti-communism. How many times has a U.S. president talked about the end of socialism?, he pondered.
Trump is wrong, the future of Cuba is here, with additional measures of blockade or without them, the future is decided by the Cubans, who have decided to build and defend a Socialist Revolution in their noses, said Rodriguez, who pointed out that the votes for the constitutional referendum next February 24 are also a response to Trump's speech.
