HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 14 (ACN) An average of 200 people have been served daily in construction materials stores after the January 27 tornado passed through areas of the capital, Interior Trade Minister Betsy Diaz Velazquez said.
Speaking on the Roundtable television program, in the presence of Miguel Diaz-Canel, President of the Councils of State and Minister, the Minister recalled that 16 points of sale were opened in the province and one more in the municipality of Diez de Octubre last weekend.
She stressed that from now on we must work on the review of all files in order to close cases and continue with other tasks such as the delivery of subsidies.
According to Diaz Velazquez, recovery work has already begun in the ministry facilities that were affected by the natural disaster with the desire that they will be in better condition than they were.
She specified that a considerable number of water tanks have moved towards the province, which have been delivered depending on the needs of each family.
Meisi Bolaños, Minister of Finance and Prices, reported that more than nine thousand victims have been treated in just over 15 days in the processing offices.
She also said that many experiences have been drawn from these days of work, mainly organizational improvements that are as necessary as the sensitivity of those who serve the population.
