HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 6 (ACN) Cuba's IT applications, products and services sector showed the quality and prestige of the island's human resources at the Indiasoft 2019 information technology conference, which closed on Tuesday in Telangana.
The First Deputy Minister of Communications, Wilfredo Gonzalez, who led the Cuban delegation to this event in the capital of the southern state of India, appreciated as satisfactory the results obtained in the event, which had the participation of 75 countries.
In statements to Prensa Latina, Gonzalez said that during the meetings with businessmen and officials of the government of Telangana, the parties agreed to highlight the opportunities for joint work between both states in the field of information technology, India being one of the world benchmarks in this field.
The Cuban official also said that the visit to the city of Hyderabad could mark the beginning of a possible closer cooperation in this area between Cuba and India, one of the world leaders in the software industry.
Cuba has a highly qualified human resource to develop a computer applications and services industry that drives the domestic economy, substitutes imports and exports professional services and computer products.
Gonzalez noted that his delegation was able to learn first-hand the experience of how the state of Telangana organizes the creation of products and new companies in the field of information technology, generating quality jobs and the necessary infrastructure.
The Cuban delegation, composed also by the general director of the company of computer applications Desoft, Luis Guillermo Fernandez, and the specialist superior of the referred portfolio Lissette Perez, exchanged with businessmen of India and other countries.
They also visited the Institute of Information Technology in Hyderabad, a university campus where new computer companies are "incubated".
In places like this, the state of Telangana creates workspaces conducive to innovate and develop computer applications and services, and encourages existing companies to use these sites and existing human resources in India.
The nineteenth edition of Indiasoft, organized by the Indian Council for the Promotion of Exports of Electronics and Computational Software, was attended by several Latin America countries like Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala and Peru.
