HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 8 (ACN) The Cuban government printed 3.1 million copies of the new Constitution in a tabloid format that will be for sale before the February 24´s referendum.
Eldis Vargas Camejo, vice-president of the Cuban Postal Business Group, stated in a press conference that during the week, the text will be on sale in all the units of that entity and press stalls throughout the island-nation.
The executive pointed out that the tabloid is already available in all the municipalities of Havana, and that marketing is planned in the province of Santiago de Cuba as of this Tuesday.
With the number of printed copies is achieved a ratio of 27 tabloids per 100 inhabitants, she said, to facilitate its reading and analysis by the people, who should vote for the new Constitution on February 24.
Vargas Camejo reported that the document has 16 pages and its price is one Cuban peso.
In addition to postal units, postal agents will market the copies, which is intended to bring the text to all corners of the country, she said.
This edition represents more than double the print run of the draft Constitution, in response to the high demand that was given the interest of the population, she said.
The official assured that this is the specific independent material with the highest circulation in the last 20 years, and it is expected to be one of the most in demand.
With more than 800 offices throughout the country, Correos de Cuba is the national postal network with the highest capillarity on the island, which is why it was selected to ensure distribution in this type of large-scale operations.
