The Sahrawi President Paid Tribute to Jose Marti in HavanaHAVANA, December 4 (ACN) The President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic Brahim Gali paid tribute on Tuesday in Havana to National Hero Jose Marti as part of an official visit to the island.

Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra accompanied the delegation during the ceremony at the monument located at the Jose Marti Square.

The program of the Sahrawi leader includes a meeting with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel to be held at Revolution Palace.

Gali told the press upon his arrival that the objective of the meeting is to strengthen ties between both nations.

The Saharawi leader arrived to Havana last Sunday and expressed that the Cuban people is a reference for his nation for its capacity to challenge, resist and succeed.

Cuba and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic maintain diplomatic relations since January of 1980 and actively cooperate in sectors like health and education.
