HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 3 (ACN) The President of the Republic of Haiti, His Excellency Mr. Jovenel Moïse, will arrive in Cuba this Monday on an official visit.
During his stay, the distinguished visitor will hold official conversations with the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and will carry out other activities.
Jovenel Moïse was born on June 26, 1968. He graduated in Educational Sciences and is married to Marie Étienne Martine Joseph Moïse.
In 2004 he became a member of the Northeast Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCINO) and was later elected its president. He then became Secretary General of the Haitian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIH).
In 2008, he created Empresa Haitiana de Energía s.a. (Comphener s.a.), aimed at supplying solar and wind energy to ten municipalities in the Northeast district.
In 2012, he founds the agricultural company Agitrans s.a., with an economic model that emphasizes Haiti's agricultural potential through the use of large-scale organic agriculture. In the same year, he promoted the creation of the first Haitian Free Agricultural Zone, through the implementation of the Nourribio agricultural project in Trou-du-Nord.
And in 2015, Moïse ran for the presidency of the Republic of Haiti. On November 20, 2016, he won the presidential elections.
