Caravan Pastors for Peace tours Guantanamo provinceGUANTANAMO, Cuba, Nov 22 (ACN) The 29th Pastors for Peace Caravan, a movement in solidarity with Cuba founded by the American Reverend Lucius Walker (New Jersey, August 3, 1930 - September 7, 2010), continues in this city its journey through the East of the country, from Santiago de Cuba.

The city of Guantanamo is preparing to receive the United States-Cuba Friendship Caravan in the Mariana Grajales Revolution Square where its members will deposit a floral offering to the Mother of the Maceo.
Subsequently, the 26 participants in this initiative, which emerged in 1992 with the fundamental objective of collaborating on a humanitarian basis with the Caribbean island, will hold a meeting with provincial authorities in the halls located in this sculptural complex, at the foot of which the Guantanamo people met with Fidel on July 26, 1985 and 1995.
The caravanistas, who will remain in this province until the early hours of Sunday, November 25, when they will return to their country (from neighboring Holguín), will exchange today with members of the socio-cultural project Jaguey - La Esperanza, which emerged thanks to the efforts of teachers and cultural promoters of the Consejo Popular (CP) Argeo Martínez, in the municipality of Manuel Tames.
This Thursday they are also scheduled to visit the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution in the Pastorita neighborhood, which is part of the CP of the same name.
The program delivered to ACN by the delegation of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), also includes the stay in the General Staff of the Antonio Maceo Brigade of the Border, armed corps guarding the borders with the illegitimate U.S. naval base located on Cuban soil since 1903.
In the municipality of Caimanera, the closest to the only existing artificial border in Cuba, they will receive an explanation about the characteristics of that Hero Village and that of Boquerón, a name given to both communities by the Eternal Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution, on the occasion of the national act for the 32nd anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.
As a fitting conclusion to this deferential visit, the Municipal Assembly of People's Power has organized the evening Song to Fidel, in homage to the second anniversary of his physical disappearance, and the collective will be given the Seal of the City, events that will take place in the movie theater Guaso, of this provincial capital.
