President of Mozambique receives Cuban Communist party delegationHAVANA, Cuba, Nov 20 (ACN) The President of the Republic of Mozambique and of the Frelimo Party, Felipe Jacinto Nyusi, received the delegation of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, led by comrade José Ramón Balaguer Cabrera, member of the Secretariat and head of its International Department.

In a fraternal and brotherly atmosphere, the two leaders exchanged views on the current state of historical relations between the two peoples and parties, while agreeing on the importance of continuing to strengthen ties of cooperation.
The Mozambican President ratified his country's support for Cuba in its fight against the US blockade of the island, and reported on the peace process taking place in his country.
For his part, comrade Balaguer thanked Mozambique for its firm position in support of Cuba and updated on the implementation of the agreements of the VI and VII Congresses of the Party. He spoke as well on the efforts being made to move forward in the economic and social spheres, in spite of the blockade, intensified by the current U.S. administration, which constitutes the main obstacle to our development. He also explained the preliminary results of the broad popular consultation process on constitutional reform.
The official talks between the two parties, chaired by Frelimo's Secretary General Roque Silva and comrade Balaguer, were held earlier.
