HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 14 (ACN) Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers held a cordial meeting with Leader of the Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn at the seat of the British Parliament.
The Cuban leader exchanged with Corbyn, one of the most important figures of the Labour Party, currently in opposition, with a past as a trade union leader and defender of a political program that defends the values of social justice and non-violence.
Corbyn, who has been linked for several years to the Cuba Solidarity Campaign, has expressed support for the leftist movements in Latin America, and described Commander in Chief Fidel Castro as a champion of social justice and a great figure of modern history, national independence and socialism in the 20th century.
Diaz-Canel is in London, the capital of the United Kingdom, as part of a transit stop after his international tour of Russia and several Asian countries.
His agenda in the city on the banks of the Thames has included meetings with diplomats and representatives of Cuban institutions, parliamentarians in solidarity with the Greater Antilles and businessmen.
