HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 13 (ACN) Cuban nurse and deputy director of nursing of the Cuban Hospital of Dukhan, Qatar, Javier Hernandez Gonzalez, was denied a visa to enter the US by the State Department.
Hernández Gonzalez was to receive in Orlando, Florida, along Mohamed Al Marri, executive director of the Cuban Hospital, the 2018 Press Ganey NDNQI Award for Nursing Excellence this health institution won.
This is the second time this hospital, where over 200 Cuban medical professionals work, wins the prestigious award.In January 2012, the Emir of Qatar Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani personally opened the facility. He was joined by then Cuban Minister of Health Roberto Ojeda.
In spite of actions like this one, the high prestige of Cuban medicine grows day by day all over the planet with an international collaboration that has taken for 55 years to 407 000 professionals, of which 183 338 are doctors, to lend their services in many countries.
