HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 31 (ACN) The Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba and its Panamanian counterpart signed today the founding agreement of a Business Committee to strengthen ties between those countries, in the context of the XXXVI International Fair of Havana (FIHAV).

The signatories were Orlando Hernández Guillén, president of the Cuban Chamber, and José Guillermo García Valdés, representative of the Panamanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and head of the Cuba-Panama Business Committee.

According to the document, the Committee is created as a joint working and representative commission, with the objective of promoting economic, trade and investment relations.

To this end, it will organize meetings, conferences; provide information and other actions that support the work of the entrepreneurs of these nations.

The Committee will be divided into two national sections - each with a president, vice-president and secretary - which in turn will be made up of businessmen interested in the development of bilateral trade and investment.

According to the text, a meeting of the young organization will be held at least once a year, in which issues related to trade in goods and services, and the development of investments will be discussed.
Public officials from both governments will be invited and the action plans of the business forum will be discussed.

FIHAV 2018 runs until November 2 at the Expocuba fairgrounds, attended by nearly 20 official delegations, headed by high-level government officials.
