Diaz-Canel to meet intense agenda on visits to Russia and Asian countriesHAVANA, Cuba, Oct 30 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel will hold meetings with the highest authorities of Russia, China, Vietnam, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Laos during his official visits to those countries, from November 1 through the 12.

In statements to the press Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emilio Lozada confirmed that in his meetings the Cuban leader will exchange on the main topics of the respective bilateral agendas and will analyze international issues of common interest.

In Russia, meetings are planned with President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and other personalities. There will also be a Joint Declaration between the two presidents on the issues on the international agenda.

Lozada also said that in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the President will be received by Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Chairman of the State Committee of the DPRK and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army; Kim Yong Nam, Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly; and Pak Pong Ju, Prime Minister.

According to Lozada's statements, meetings are planned in China with the four main leaders of the state and the government: President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Keqiang and the Presidents of the National People's Assembly and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Li Zhanshu and Wang Yang, respectively.

In addition, President Diaz-Canel will make a visit to Shanghai, where he will tour the First China International Import Fair, an event to which the Chinese leadership has attached great importance.
During the visit will be signed agreements in the areas of trade, renewable energy, tourism, technology and cooperation in the framework of the Road and Belt initiative.

The diplomat pointed out that in Vietnam, the Cuban President will be received by the main figures of the State and the Government: the Secretary General of the Communist Party and President Nguyen Phu Trong, the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and the President of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Likewise, Diaz-Canel will visit Ho Chi Minh City, a city with which Cuba has excellent political ties and in which important Vietnamese companies with a presence in the Island reside. The new Bilateral Trade Agreement between the governments of both countries will be signed.

The Cuban president's tour includes Laos, a country that will be visited for the first time in history by a President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, and meetings are planned with President Buunnhang Vorachit, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and the president of the National Assembly, Pany YAthotou.

Three agreements will be signed in the areas of banking cooperation, sport and higher education.
