Havana International Fair kicks off dedicated to 500 anniversary of city

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 29 (ACN) Dedicated to the 500 years of the founding of the Village of San Cristóbal, the XXXVI International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2018) begins this Monday in this capital. This commercial Fair is consolidated as one of the most important in Latin America and the Caribbean.

On this occasion, businessmen from more than 60 countries will be present, with an important number of square meters contracted, similar to 2017, which was the largest edition, according to statements to ACN by Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment.
According to the Minister, the appointment will have a broad international participation, in contrast with the position of the United States to tighten the economic, commercial and financial blockade against the Island.
He also expressed his confidence that it will be a success once again, and that those present will support Cuba in the fight against the hostile and illegal policy of the U.S. government.
Today Russia, a nation that according to Malmierca is confirmed as one of Cuba's main economic and commercial partners, will have its National Day and a business forum with Latin America and the Caribbean.
In addition, the days of South Korea and Spain will be celebrated, the country that is once again the most represented at the fair.
FIHAV 2018 will be held from October 29 to November 2 at the Expocuba fairgrounds, and is expected to be attended by about 20 official delegations, chaired by high-level government officials.
