Cuba and Kuwait strengthen ties of friendship

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 26 (ACN) Cuban deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra received on Tuesday in Havana the secretary of the National Assembly of Kuwait, Odah al Rowaie, and in the a meeting they highlighted the bonds of friendship between the two countries.

The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of the visit made by the parliamentarian of the country of the Middle East.
Al Rowaie spoke on Monday with Ana Maria Mari Machado, vice president of the National Assembly of People's Power, who received him at El Capitolio, the institutional seat of the Cuban legislature.
Mari Machado thanked Kuwait for its solidarity in the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the United States has imposed on the Caribbean nation for almost 60 years.
She also highlighted the support that the two states offer to the cause of the Palestinian people in their demand for freedom, sovereignty and self-determination.
Al Rowaie said bilateral relations are distinguished, and explained that despite cultural, political and ideological differences; they value and appreciate each and every one of the experiences developed in Cuba.
We respect the Cuban people for their resistance and for the continuity they have given to their history, that demonstrates their high values, which are recognized all over the world', added the president of the IV Parliamentary Friendship Group (which among other countries includes Cuba).
