HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 21 (ACN) José Ramón Balaguer Cabrera, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and head of its International Relations Department was received at the headquarters of the Grand People's Palace by You Quan, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and head of the United Front Department.
Balaguer heads the Cuban delegation attending the Third Theoretical Seminar between Communist Parties of Cuba and China, the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba informs today.
In the fraternal meeting You Quan recalled that Cuba was the first country in Latin America and the Caribbean to establish diplomatic ties with New China.
He stressed the deep friendship that has been founded between both countries during the process of socialist construction and reaffirmed the support of the CCP and the Chinese people towards Cuba, in the achievement of its development objectives.
For his part, Balaguer highlighted the positive changes that have taken place in China, 40 years after the implementation of the reform and opening.
He referred to the relevant spaces for cooperation on party building established between both parties, such as theoretical seminars, and provided current information on the progress of constitutional reform in Cuba and the process of broad popular consultation.
The fruitful exchange made it possible to confirm the maturity of the political dialogue and the profound coincidences between the two Communist Parties.
