Ghanaian Minister of Foreign Affairs starts Visit to CubaHAVANA, Cuba, Sep 17 (acn) Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Ghana´s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, will begin a visit to Cuba today, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean island.

According to CubaMinrex site, Botchwey will talk with her Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez, and will also participate in the signing ceremony of the Agreement for Regular Diplomatic Consultations between the parties.
In addition, the distinguished visitor will pay homage to the Ghanaian independence leader Kwame Nkrumah, in the park of the African heroes, in Havana city.
Both nations established diplomatic relations on December 23, 1959, as result of the historic meeting held by the then Prime Ministers, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, at the Theresa Hotel, in the African-American neighborhood of Harlem, in New York.
Ghana was the first sub-Saharan African nation to establish diplomatic relations with Cuba, according to Prensa Latina (PL) news agency.
