HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 10 (ACN) Cuba´s First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Salvador Valdes, attended the parade for the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea, held on Pyongyang this Sunday.
Valdes Mesa was at the main tribune during the parade, as a guest. The North Korean chairman King Jong-un greeted him and spoke to him before of the beginning of the celebrations.
The Cuban leader arrived in Pyongyang on Saturday, after a brief stop in China, part of an Asian tour that will take him to Vietnam as well. He was received in North Korea by Ri Su-Yong, vice-chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea.
This is Valdes Mesa´s second visit to North Korea, after his trip on June 28th, 2016, when he went as a special envoy of the First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party, Raul Castro, to inform the North Korean leaders of the outcome of the Seventh Congress of the Party.
