HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 22 (ACN) The Engineering Works Construction Company number 5 (ECOING 5) is putting the finishing touches on a modern asphalt plant in the municipality of Guanabacoa, to use its production for the city's roads and roads of national interest.
It is a discontinuous industry with state-of-the-art technology, automated, ecological, has 4 hoppers: 3 for cold aggregates and 1 for recycled material (Hot Asphalt Concrete), reported exclusively to the Cuban News Agency Carlos Acosta Cordoví, director of the entity, which works in the phases of assembly and commissioning.
It also has 2 silos, one for cement and the other for lime, a recycled polymer and a viatop for aggregates, which improves the mixes in terms of resistance to deformation, durability and comfort.
At full capacity, the plant will produce 160 tons per hour of Hot Asphalt Concrete, which will be used on the capital's roads and other important ones in the country, said the manager when referring to the essential objective of the Italian technology factory, built only a year ago by the Mariani Company.
He pointed out that the raw materials are found in the Alacranes Quarry, in the province of Matanzas, 98 kilometers away from Havana,
ECOING 5 is one of the entities of the Construction and Assembly Business Group (CUBACONS) of the Ministry of Construction (MICONS).
Its mission is to produce, sell and lay asphalt concrete for the rehabilitation and rehabilitation of roads and airfields in the nation, for which it has technology and trained personnel.
In 2018, it will take its services to clients of the Ministry of Transport, which are technical networks, roads of provincial interest and roads, as well as of national importance, to the National Institute of Water Resources, social works and other organizations.
