Cuba: First VP calls for excellence in quality of services

MATANZAS, Cuba, Jul 12 (ACN) The quality of services in the tourism sector must be of excellence, emphasized today Salvador Valdés Mesa, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, during a visit to the Juan Gualberto Gómez airport in Matanzas.

Valdés Mesa referred to tourism as a promising sector for the country's economic future and acknowledged the work being carried out at the Varadero airport, a center which, he insisted, must be a benchmark, with skills in line with international standards.
The second most important airport in the country, one of the destinations included in the itinerary of the governmental visit made on Wednesday to the territory of Matanzas, during the year 2018 received more than 910 thousand passengers, the majority of them from Canada.
The First Vice President learned that in order to double the capacity of cargo and parcel delivery, an investment is being made in Juan Gualberto Gómez that involves the renovation of infrastructures and technologies, a process that should be completed in November.
