HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 3 (ACN) The President of the Council of States and Ministers Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez will attend the 39th Regular Meeting of CARICOM's Heads of State and Government as a special guest to be held July 5th and 6th in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The note published by CubaMinRex website reports that the invitation to the Cuban President coincides with the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations of the first four independent Caribbean nations with Cuba.
It is also an opportunity to strengthen the historic friendship, solidarity and cooperation ties between Cuba and the Caribbean countries.
A mechanism of dialog and agreement was established in 2002 between the Caribbean Community and Cuba at the highest level and six CARICOM-Cuba Summits have been held.
The last Summit was held las December in Antigua and Barbuda with the participation of former President of the Council of State and Ministers, Army General Raul Castro Ruz.
