HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 19 (ACN) Cuba is developing a project to produce water treatment plants aimed at substituting imports, informed on Tuesday a representative from the Comprehensive Automation Company (CEDAI).
The Director of CEDAI's Water Technology Division, Dariela Camejo Nunez told ACN that the entity is working in the concept of an International Economy Association with a foreign partner to be defined to create production capacities of this machinery.
According to the specialist, the project will allow an expansion in the coverage of the drinking water in the country for the consumption of the population and industry, mainly bio-pharmaceutical and food.
The intention is to produce the plants in Cuba because, he said, we currently import all of the components in addition to the engineering solutions and the foreign specialists that offer the services.
Camejo Nunez said that the future of the entity, in approximately one year, includes the installation of 445 desalinization plants, machines that currently are used in tourism and industry sectors.
In the context of the exhibition associated to the Cubaindustria 2018 International Convention, the CEDAI presented a water treatment plant by Nano-filtering, joint project with the German Gruenbeck company.
According to specialists of the Cuban entity, the new technology –with a capacity of 300 liters per hour- is superior to the purification by inverse osmosis, in addition to a higher quality of drinking water.
Business executives, academics, scientists, technologists and representatives from some 30 countries exchange knowledge and are establishing alliances at Cubaindustria 2018, main event on the sector held every two years.
