HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 18 (ACN) Cuba and Russia signed on Monday in Havana a Cooperation Agreement in the field of industry in the context of the Cubaindustria 2018 International Convention and Exhibition.
Cuba's Vice President of Industries, Jose Gaspar Alvarez and Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Georgy Kalamanov signed the document.
With the signing of the accord, the meetings of the 8th Session of the working group concluded with an intense work of experts, according to the communications specialists of the Industry Ministry.
Work and dialog, in addition to the document, which was made official on Monday, are aimed at the development of projects in the fields of civil aviation, steel and the construction of heavy machinery.
In addition, joint work was reinforced in transportation, construction of special machinery and chemical and light industries.
The projects will strengthen the economic and commercial ties between Russian and Cuban companies in the areas and will help mutually beneficial relations between both nations.
In the context of the sessions of the joint working group, the signing of two business agreements will be signed, one of them related to modernization of the textile industry and second referring to the creation of a joint venture for the production of construction materials.
Exchanges and collaboration ties between both countries constitutes a thrust to the Cuban economy in the context of the updating of the island's economic and social model and an example of the state of relations between the governments of Havana and Moscow.
