HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 11 (acn) Roberto Morales Ojeda, Vice President of the Council of State and Cuba´s Minister of Public Health, said that more than 400 thousand professionals from that sector have collaborated in some 165 countries.
In a meeting as part of a visit to Granma province, He stated that currently Cuban has medical collaborators in 65 nations, and has the greatest willingness to help those who request it.
The quality of Cuban medicine is undeniable and recognized throughout the world, which is a source of pride for us, he noted.
He highlighted the humanist thinking of Fidel Castro, the main promoter of Cuban internationalist missions that bring health, education, sports and art to other peoples.
The greatest expressions of solidarity by Cuban medical professionals include the fight against Ebola epidemic, when medical personnel from the Caribbean island endangered their own lives to save other people.
During his visit to Granma, Morales Ojeda visited two major health centers to verify their management.
In Granma, there are six hospitals at provincial level and others in all municipalities, maternity and nursing homes, dental clinics, 791 family doctor's offices and 28 polyclinics, including eight in mountain areas.
