Cuba and Turkey to increase trade relations

Cuba and Turkey to increase trade relationsHAVANA, Cuba, Jun 4 (ACN) Cuba and Turkey are working to strengthen their trade relations, with the aim of expanding cooperation and economic exchanges, which exceed 28 million dollars a year.

A Cuban official delegation, led by Ileana Núñez Mordoche, deputy minister of foreign trade, began a visit to the country to realize this goal, reports Prensa Latina (PL) today.
The representatives of the island will have a wide agenda of meetings and exchanges in Istanbul and Ankara, scheduled by the Turkish Ministry of Economy.
For five days they will address issues of mutual interest in sectors such as health, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, tourism, transport, agriculture and construction, among others.
The day will begin with a joint working session at the headquarters of the External Economic Relations Board, an institution that represents the Turkish business sector in many activities.
At the meeting, the Cuban delegation will present a report on the preferential aspects of trade opportunities and investment possibilities, including the Mariel Special Development Zone.
Both Turkey and Cuba have shown interest in strengthening their bilateral relations, and the current visit can therefore help to expand cooperation and economic exchanges.
