Direct Postal service between Cuba and the United States resumes

HAVANA, Cuba, June 1 (ACN) The Correos de Cuba Business Group and the United States Postal Service agreed to permanently implement, on direct flights, the exchange of postal mail between the two countries.
The Directorate of Institutional Communication of the Correos de Cuba Business Group, in a note published today, June 1, explains that this measure comes into effect "after the implementation for more than a year of the Pilot Plan for the direct exchange of postal mail between the two countries, as announced in March 2016.
It adds that "the implementation of the service in its current format began on April 16, 2018 and takes into account the technical, operational and safety requirements identified by the parties during the implementation of the Pilot Plan".
The re-establishment of this service, it adds, allows for direct mailings on direct flights between Cuba and the United States of mail, postal parcels and express courier services through the post offices of both countries.
"Through the website www.correos.cu of Correos de Cuba, interested parties can obtain all the information they require about our services, rates and regulations, as well as track and trace shipments with registration code, among other benefits, which includes the ability to download and have this website on mobile devices with Android operating system," says the organization's Institutional Communications Department.
