Cuba and Sweden Sign Memorandum of UnderstandingHAVANA, Cuba, May 24 (ACN) Cuba's Supreme Court and the International Legal Assistance Consortium (ILAC) based in Sweden signed on Thursday in Havana a memorandum of understanding as part of the 9 th International Justice and Law Encounter.

The memorandum's objective is to promote exchange and technical and professional cooperation and create a bilateral commission to develop joint actions to contribute to fomenting training and increase skills in both institutions.

The President of the Supreme Court Ruben Remigio Ferro, said that the work of the ILAC will allow to increase capacities, knowledge and promote professional exchanges.

The Executive Director of ILAC, Agneta Johansson praised the organization of the event and its scientific program and affirmed that the memorandum signed with Cuba offers its organization the opportunity of expanding knowledge of Latin America.

She also praised the dedication of the Supreme Court in the permanent formation of its judges in addition to close relation with other legal institutions.

The 9th International Justice and Law Encounter began on Wednesday at Havana's Convention Center with the participation of over 900 representatives and guests from 27 countries and its conclusion is scheduled for Friday.
