HAVANA, Cuba, May 18 (ACN) Cuba is receiving messages of condolences from all over the world over the air accident of a Boeing 737-200 on Friday afternoon close to the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro expressed through his Twitter account his condolences for the relatives of the victims of the accident of the flight and reaffirmed his support.
From Russia, President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences and support to the families and friends of the victims and wished a quick recovery to the three survivors of the tragic accident.
High-ranking Honduran, Panamanian and other government officials also expressed their condolences with the Cuban people and government in addition to the relatives of the victims of other nations.
The accident took place on Friday 12:08 in the afternoon in the surrounding area of the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana with foreign crewmembers and 104 passengers on board, according to the President of the Cuban Civil Aeronautic Institute, Roberto Pena.
Flight DMJ 0972 with foreign crewmembers was traveling from Havana to Holguin when it crashed in an agricultural area close to the town of Santiago de las Vegas not far from Terminal 1.
