HAVANA, Cuba, May 8 (ACN) The President of the Council of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez received on Tuesday in Havana the Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) who is visiting the island on occasion of the 37th period of sessions of the regional entity commemorating its 70th anniversary.
In a friendly environment both coincided in highlighting the excellent relations between the Cuban government and ECLAC in addition to the commitment to continue strengthening the ties. The Cuban President thanked the Commission in the updating process of the Cuban economic model. Both also discussed issues of the international scene.
The Assistant under Secretaries of the ECLAC, Raul Garcia Buchaca and Mario Zimoli accompanied the distinguished visitor.
On the Cuban side were Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Ileana Nunez Mordoche and the Cuban ambassador to the UN, Anayansi Rodriguez Camejo.
