HAVANA, Cuba, May 7 (ACN) Cuba's Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Economy and Planning, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz received on Monday in Havana the Portuguese Minister of Economy, Tourism and Industries, Heredia Caldeira Cabral who is visiting the island to participate in the Cuba-Portugal Business Forum organized by the Cuban Chamber of Commerce.
Accompanying Caldeira were Portugal's ambassador to Cuba, Fernando d'Orey de Brito e Cunha Figueirinhas and other officials of the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Industries and the Portuguese embassy in Cuba.
During the encounter, Minister Caldeira ratified his country's interest in reinforcing bilateral economic relations with Cuba and take advantage of the business forum to tie both country's businesses in joint investment projects.
Cabrisas thanked the Portuguese Minister for the growing interest in strengthening political, economic and cooperation ties between both nations.
He also referred to the updating process of the economic and social model and the Economic and social Development Plan to the year 2030; in addition to the impact of climate change on the island inflicting the recent drought that affected the country followed by the damages of Hurricane Irma. In addition to effects of Washington's economic, commercial and financial blockade against the isaldn for over 50 years which affects the country's economy.
The Director of the Commercial Policy with Europe of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment, Inalvis Bonachea Gonzalez and the Director of the Cuban Central Bank, Isaac Hernandez Perez were also part of the Cuban delegation.
