SANCTI SPIRITUS, Cuba, May 3 (ACN) Sancti Spiritus has maintained a sustainable growth in the recovery of the province after the passing of Hurricane Irma, said General Joaquin Quintas Sola, Hed of the Central Strategic Region.
He expressed that the central territory has had magnificent results with a high percentage of compliance of its plan for the construction of homes and slowly recovering the partial collapse caused by the hurricane.
General Quintas Sola added the enormous effort headed by the Cuban government and Communist Party in the province and the support of the people in the construction tasks and refurbishing of work places, schools and homes.
He added that local production of construction materials has been key and is also a fast way to slowly improve homes in Cuba.
The Army General pointed out that they have insisted in that the management for the plans in the construction of homes must be carried out multilaterally; needing a systematic process and a profound need to solve the problems.
The General learned that out of the 19 thousand 159 homes affected by Hurricane Irma in the province of Sancti Spiritus, 11 thousand 948 had been solved from September of 2017 up until the month of April of this year, representing 62.3 percent.
Yaguajay was the municipality that was most affected by the impact of Irma and 439 homes are expected to be constructed this year with the help of a donation from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and located in an area known as El Yigre.
